Conflicted by OSU vs. PSU

I'm watching the OSU/PSU game right now and OSU is leading 6-3. I'm really conflicted about this game because I despise OSU and would like to see Paterno do well and put St. Bobby in his rear view mirror for good (even though Bowden's W-L record is bogus). But realistically if PSU wins they may just coast into the BCS championship game. If that were to happen I suspect the Big Ten would be unmasked again. But if OSU wins then there's an outside shot at them getting into the big game for the third straight year.

For those of us that despise the Bowls and Polls system it would be fantastic to watch the Buckeyes stink the joint out again. 119 teams and one has a yearly ticket to get its handed to it on the biggest stage?

I think a 1 loss OSU gets passed over by a one loss SEC champ. An undefeated PSU, on the other hand, does not. For that reason and that reason alone I am (painfully) hoping OSU wins this.

I was pulling for OSU (don't tell anyone though) for the same reason. Penn State's schedule is soft. OSU is the only ranked team on their schedule and their OOC is Coastal Carolina, Oregon State, Syracuse, and Temple. Not exactly impressing anyone. I say they (should) get jumped by a 1-loss Big 12 or SEC champ, but not by USC.

Good observation Gomez have to agree, Texas may have problems on the road at Texas Tech setting up the Red Raiders in a championship game against Penn State, but they haven't seen D like Penn State. Similarly SEC defenses this year just aren't on par, Alabama has just squeaked by a couple poor teams, can't see them staying undefeated. Longhorns just holding on at home are due to fold on the road next week. Florida and USC are out both losing to mediocre teams. Appears JoePa has the most well rounded team offensive and defensively in the nation.

Just don't forget how "well rounded" OSU looked two years ago...

The JoePa love is going to mask the fact that this PSU team has an exceptionally weak schedule (and they only have Iowa and MSU left so I can't see it getting much stronger)-- its weaker than TT, and this slapfest vs. OSU hasn't exactly inspired me to think that the Nittany Lions would stay on the field with us, UT, USC, Oklahoma, etc.).

I just cannot understand why every Gator fan besides me was pulling for the Suckeyes. Yes, the system we have now sucks donkey balls, but at some point shouldn't we as fans of football want a title game that's, you know, watchable?

Besides, PSU is going to lose to Iowa anyway.
