We're famous, well sort of

We found out today from Ryan at Orange and Blue Hue that Saurian Sagacity was referenced in Austin Murphy's book about college football: Saturday Rules.

Murphy is a senior writer for Sports Illustrated who has covered both the NFL and the college game.

We're mentioned in the epilogue because in a May 3rd post, Mergz took Big 10 commisioner Jim Delany to task for this idiotic statement:

"I love speed and the SEC has great speed, especially on the defensive line, but there are appropriate balances when mixing academics and athletics."

Mergz disabused Delany of the mistaken notion that academics in the SEC are inferior to those in the Big 10 by pointing out that the NCAA's Academic Progress Rate (APR) is slightly higher for the SEC than the Big 10.
