South Carolina – Contender

I was somewhat skeptical of the Gamecock’s chances for an SEC East Title in this post.

Color me wrong.

With a Bulldog pelt under their belts, the Gamecocks look to be real contenders, and at this point at least have a lead in the SEC East.

I’m not totally sold on the ‘Cocks – when you look at the Georgia game stats, Georgia had more total yards (341-314), and South Carolina managed only 1 in 11 3rd down conversion attempts.

At the same time, they committed no turnovers. And in the SEC, a win is a win.

Something else for my Gators to worry about.

And BTW the Gators gave up more than 30 tonight. Something else for our Gators to worry about, if you're theory about giving up 30 is correct.

In a certain game last year, the Gators were outgained 410-401 and squeaked by at home closer than the 'Cocks did last night. Defense wins, and SC's played big when they had to.

I have to wonder how the play-calling would have been different if Richt were calling them.
