So, Herschel had 49 total in his career? A quick bit of research says he's a long way from the overall record of 73 (Travis Prentice Miami OH 1995-1995) though.

That's good to know. So, where does everyone prefer to get their records and stats from? Is there a definitive site or reference for this kind of thing?
There's a PDF of the NCAA football record book online. You need to google it.
Each conference of course keeps its own records. And the media guides and pre-game notes for each team have the school records.
