He Who Laughs First...

…laughs worst, or so my momma used to tell me.

Actually she said nothing of the sort. But you get the gist. I made several posts mocking USC for their loss to an inferior team – well, let’s get that back in spades. Oregon State and Ole Miss are twins of inferiority, and if USC is done (and they should be) so are my Gators.

I could go over the debacle, but why bother? We are a spoiler now. LSU and Georgia, we live to ruin your years. And as for seeing Gameday at Jacksonville, I guess this game fouled this (sorry Blutarsky).

In closing, I ran across a Gator fan of substantial years who asked me after this game, “Where did THAT game come from?” I said, “How long have you been a fan”, to which she answered (somewhat indignantly), “Forty-some years.”

“And that game somehow surprised you”, said I?

I don't agree at all... We're in the SEC. We play top 5 UGA and LSU. Then we play in the SEC championship game against a great team. BTW Mergz I came to look for you again at your tailgate place, you home with the baby or can I just not find you?

I was there. We are at the Murphree corner, near the pool, in a white camper van. Pretty tame this week.

Oh wow, a camper van???? I totally saw it, but I didn't recognize u from your SS pic/see you. were you there for the Hawaii game? Do you have a keg in there? I saw a camper in that same spot during the Hawaii game and a dude went in with a glass and came out with a glass of beer beer. It was sweet.

Anyway, after watching youtube and getting drunk i forgot about the Gator loss for 10 minutes. You should try it

Anyway,

Our season is done in terms of the bogus MNC. We need to worry about taking care of business with the rest of our SEC opponents and try to win the conference. Period.

SO...where does this loss rank among the most humiliating ones in Gator history?

There's the 45-3 loss to the Vols in '90 I think, and that's the only one that might be worse IMO. The Mississippi State loss under Zook was bad, but it was Zook.

Losing at home when favored by 24 to a team that had lost its previous TEN SEC GAMES days after everyone saw USC shit the bed has got to be right up there.

Don't look now but Wisconsin just blew a 19-0 lead to lose to Michigan, so it's all but certain the Suckeyes will get to the title game yet again. Yes, I fully expect JoePa's boys to lose to Illinois the way this day is going.

No Way. We're not out of the MNC pic

Dolfan~Looks like Penn State is one of the top three college teams in a season of astonishing twists. JoePa's boys look fit even the drum major is doing perfect flips. Can't see the Suckeyes getting thru that Big Tweleven season without losing a couple more even with Beanie Boy back and a new freshman QB starting now.

At least Georgia lost, thank God. Those two garbage time TDs in the last 3 minutes annoyed me greatly though, and will convince the sheep that Bama just barely hung on.

I can't figure out how the SEC became the Big 12 all of a sudden, with one division being so ludicrously better than the other.

Assuming we somehow right the ship and become able to win the rest of our games, we're not out of the MNC race. But based on what I've seen, we're out of it just because we aren't good enough to be in it.

It's not over until the fat lady sings, Gator fans. based on the sloppy way our kids were playing they invited this loss by making mistakes that were unavoidable. Even so, it's early in the season and we have two more months of football to go. After all, that one loss to Auburn back in 2006 didn't keep us from getting to Glendale - so anything's possible.

(BTW, Illinoise lost to JoePa and Penn State, thank God. That should have silenced the Zook apologists somewhat this weekend.)
