Blog Swap, Ole Miss Week

This season we're exchanging blog posts with our opponents. This week it's The Hotty Toddy Blog representing Ole Miss. You can visit them and see what we wrote. So here's their thoughts for our readers. (New posts will appear below this one until midnight Thursday.)

Welcome back to Ole Miss, Gator fans.

We are glad to be hosting the defending national champs. We were all proud to see a co-SEC member win the National Championship. It was also great watching you expose the Big Ten and OSU.

The last time y'all paid us a visit it was a fun time for us Rebs. This time will probably be a lot different. Regardless, if you choose to come to the game, you will have a great time in Oxford.

The first thing to do in Oxford is to visit the square. There are a lot of fabulous privately owned restaurants. My favorite is Ajex cafe. Try the fried pickles appetizer. You have to also check out Square books. Go to the second floor get a chest square, a cup of coffee and a good book. Take it out on the balcony and enjoy all three while hearing, seeing and smelling the Oxford Square.
Just a short drive from the square is Rowan Oak, William Faulkner's home. This is now owned by the University. This is a great spot to visit while in Oxford.

For a good video on the Oxford square check this out:

Of course, you must check out the Grove. If you plan on tailgating in the Grove, you can hire someone to set up your tent or you can set it up yourself the night before. If you plan on setting up yourself, the Grove opens at Midnight. It's ok to leave your tent, chairs and tables overnight. Rebel fans are very friendly in the Grove and will offer you food, drinks and advice.

Two hours before kickoff, the team will walk through the Grove at the Walk of Champions. Another must see is the full band pep rally 1:15 minutes prior to Kickoff. Just find the stage and the Victorian looking building (aka Ventress Hall) and you are in the right place.

Here is a clip of the pep rally:

Here are a few other videos on the Grove:

I hope y'all enjoy the trip to Oxford. Here's to another game like 2002!
