Kirk Herbstreit's Dumbass quote of the day

I thought we put those bloggers away for a year.

-Kirk Herbstreit

Well USC did in fact take Michigan to the wood shed. Lloyd Carr once again proved that, more often than not, he can't win the big the game.

No Kirk, the bloggers aren't going anywhere. Now that Michigan proved that IT'S NOT THE SECOND BEST TEAM IN THE COUNTRY, it's you that should kindly shut the fuck up.

Can we kindly ask you all to shut the fuck up on January 9th? Lord knows your SEC credibility took a major kick in the nuts today...

Hmmmm - Big 10 in bowl games - 2 and 4, with one left.

SEC in bowl games 4-3, with 2 left.

Hmmm, Big Ten vs SEC bowl games... 2-0.

Even the masters can't spin those numbers in your favor.

What's even funnier is your three recent posts in 30 minutes about MICHIGAN! Are you that insecure in your seat at the table that you just can't help yourself? Rather than worrying about how weak Michigan is since you aren't playing them, how about you sit down and figure out a way to spin the fact that teams you beat by one and 10 points respectively just got beaten by two shitty teams today.

I'm really having trouble following your rants Mike.

No one here has ever said that Wisconsin or Penn State were "shitty". I think they are both better than the teams they beat today.

Ohio State never played Wisconsin, so we don't know how they would have fared against them.

OSU beat Penn State 28-6, but managed only 253 yards of offense against them. They scored twice on defense against Penn State. Tennessee had more yards against PSU than OSU did, but lost.

But who really cares? Nobody has to spin anything. We will know for sure how well we fare against Ohio State in one week. If Ohio State beats Florida, I will readily acknowledge them as the nation's finest team.

I'm not sure who you are arguing with here. Maybe anger management would help.

So why do you keep harping on Michigan? Are you that desperate to discredit Ohio State that putting down Michigan will somehow make Florida a better team in your eyes?

"No one here has ever said that Wisconsin or Penn State were "shitty"."

I did actually. Penn State is horrible and yes, they played us close, but it rained the entire game and the field was a mess. Hence the reason they ripped up the field and you all know as well as anyone, rain ruins a skill teams ability to do what they do best.

"I think they are both better than the teams they beat today."

It's easy to say that now, but I would be willing to bet you didn't believe it before the games began today. Instead you all have continuously spun your web of stats and ratings to boost your egos and provide hope of beating us. Unfortunately, the fact that the SEC might very well be overrated became a cold reality this afternoon.

Ah, some clarity.

First of all, I didn’t know you were an Ohio State fan until you said “us”. Now I see where you are coming from, even if I don’t really understand it.

“So why do you keep harping on Michigan? Are you that desperate to discredit Ohio State that putting down Michigan will somehow make Florida a better team in your eyes?”

Uh, no. Michigan and Florida, you might have noticed, had an ongoing debate about who should play your Buckeyes. I would say the USC thumping just went a long way to ending the debate.

No one is trying to “discredit” Ohio State. The Buckeyes are undefeated. And how pray tell do you “discredit” a team that you are about to face, and what purpose would it serve anyway. As I said, we will know the answer in one week. Any attempt to discredit would be a useless enterprise.

“ Instead you all have continuously spun your web of stats and ratings to boost your egos and provide hope of beating us.”

Actually, I think Ohio State is going to beat Florida. They should beat Florida, as they have an experienced team that has played under the same system for all their careers, compared to Florida that has played under Meyer’s system for 2 years.

That doesn’t mean I won’t be a fan, and root like hell for Florida.

Your harping on Herbie makes you look pathetic and juvenile. Particularly when you use gratuitous vulgarity.

I for one was happy to see USC beat Michigan yesterday. Why the thumping on "Meatchicken"? The way they kept slobbering over not being picked to go to the NC game against Ohio State, they asked for it. Maybe yesterday's loss to the Trojans was like adding insult to injury for them, but they should just suck it up and eat their humble pie.
