Pulling of hair and gnashing of teeth

In the wake of Saturday's extremely painful loss to Auburn I was going to post something of a statistical breakdown of the game but upon reflection this game, in my opinion, came down to 3 key plays and in that sense it was very much like the loss at South Carolina last year.

1. The safety on the holding call in the end zone.

2. The dropped snap on the punt that went for an Auburn TD

3. The terrible call on the incomplete pass from Leak.

You are talking about a 12 point difference in the game (assuming the Gators would have kicked a FG it the refs had gotten that contoversial call right. Almost as bad as missing out on those 3 points was the loss of the time-out.

Well, we knew we had a horrendous schedule and that there was a good chance we'd stumble. By the way this is probably the worst thing that could happen to Georgia. Coming off the spanking they took, they might have had an edge against an overconfident Florida squad. Now the Gators have no room for error in their bid to get to Atlanta for the SEC Championship game and they are going to be extremely motivated to get this loss out of their system. Plus two weeks to prepare is long time.
