Irony of ironies
So I'm sitting here watching College Gameday and they conduct a segment in which each of the panelists has to defend one of the 1-loss teams and in an irony of ironies Kirk Herbstreit is chosen to defend the Gators. Luckily the Gators won't be needing Kirk's defense if they just take care of business from here on in. Still it made me very uncomfortable to see Kirk wearing a Gators cap after all the garbage he spewed two years ago about Michigan deserving to go to the BCS title game over Florida. I think he knows his credibility took a HUGE hit when the Gators mopped up the floor with his beloved Buckeyes so now he's swung in the other direction and become a huge Florida cheerleader. With his track record, I'll say "No, thanks Kirk, keep on rooting for the Big Ten."

In his defense, he did apologize for being so utterly and completely wrong. Something that might seem obvious elsewhere, but is rare when dealing with talking heads.
He had to, he looked like an ass after Michigan got buried in the Rose Bowl and the OSU got buried in the BCSCG. He should apologize to Gary Danielson after impugning his integrity.
I don;t think you'll have to worry about Herbie any longer--he's now officially riding the Sooners' jocks after tonight. Which means they'll lose next week :)
Herbie apologized? must have missed that. If someone could post the link to that it would be greatly appreciated. still, its amazing to think that Herbie's bias towards the Big 10 pales in comparison to Lou Holtz and Notre Dame. He actually said on air that Charlie Weis deserved an A- for his coaching job this year. It hink its time to put Old Yeller down, he's obviously lost it.
Of course, more recently, Michigan did defeat the Gators (and their Heisman winning quarterback) last January as I recall.
What does 2007 have to do with Herbie being very very wrong about Florida and Michigan in 2006?
