I don't want to jinx it but...
USC is playing like ass. Here's hoping I get to see that priceless look on Pete Carroll's face (the one from last year's Stanford game and the previous year's UCLA game) tonight.
UPDATE: Just got a glimpse of the look and we're only at halftime.
UPDATE (2:43 to go in the 4th): Watch Pete Carroll's face.
UPDATE (2:39 to go in the 4th): TD, I'm giddy.
UPDATE (1:18 to go in the 4th): On side kick no good. Show his face! Show his Goddamned face!

HOORAY!!!!
hahaha! Ummmm... so maybe 98% of the first place votes was the wrong way to go. I'm thinking that maybe too many people gave them too much credit after losing to STANFORD last year. When will they learn? haha!

How is it that USC manages to stumble, every year, against a weak conference because they do the same damn thing every game... and yet, Ohio State manages to slaughter the Big Televen, and stumble whenever they face somebody out of conference, because THEY do the same damn thing every game?
I mean, you'd think that the Big Televen would catch on... or the rest of the country would look at how the 'giant killers' of the Pac-10 manage to knock off USC and learn something...
It really is bizarre how USC can look brilliant eleven games in the year, and then utterly cock it up against Random Mediocre Pac-10 School in the twelfth. Has anyone else blown more 20+ spreads the last three years? (I mean, Stanford? Stanford costs you a title shot? Seriously - what the hell?)
That Beaver running back can sure shimmy, didn't look too mediocre to me. Wonderin' how Joe Pa's team crushed this OSU team? Certainly PSU and Wisky are the top teams of the Big Televen and not the Bucks at least till Beanie returns.
Rodgers was impressive, no doubt about it, but I won't for an instant believe that a team that has already lost to Stanford is going to be better than middle of the pack. That's the baffling thing about USC's recent history - with the exception of (pre-Dixon injury) Oregon last year, they haven't been losing to good teams.
Well Gators, it's wide open.
Here comes the SEC.
Fish,
Funny...but now that you mention it...
that look is a FINE vintage, seamlessly merging the Zookian "deer-in-the-headlights" visage with a just a hint of Spurrier-esque "What the HELL did I just step in?" essence...and a Tresselian head-shaking-staring-at-my-shoes aftertaste.
S..E..C !!! S..E..C !!!
