Growlin' Gators keep on Rolling

The Florida Men's Basketball team has just won its third consecutive S.E.C. tournament. This time after also winning the regular season title. Coupled with the NCAA title, and SEC and BCS titles in football last year, there's truly never been a better time to be a Gator.

A quick note of congratulations to Lee Humphrey who, with his 6 points today, became the 5th Gator starter to reach 1,000 career points during this season, joining Corey Brewer, Taurean Green, Joakim Noah, and Al Horford. The Gator media guide for the game today claims that it's not known whether this has ever happened before. But I'll tell what, it's unlikely to happen again with top players opting to leave school early for the NBA.

Let's see if the hard court Gators can keep it rolling for another couple of weeks.

The brackets are in, and the best part is that we are the #1 overall seed. If we make it to the finals, we could have a rematch against UCLA and meet Ohio State in the finals.

True we're a #1 seed, but we can't take any team lightly - even though we won by a huge margin over Jackson State in the first round we were a bit sluggish in the first half of that one. A win over Purdue gets us into the Sweet 16, but we need to bring our "A" game and keep the mistakes way down.

We could meet tOSU in the finals if we get there again, but they have a tough road ahead of them as well. Xavier rallied back to nearly beat them in their second-round game, but the Buckeyes won in OT.
