Ass Clown

You may have noticed the Big 10 and ACC commercials where the coaches of each team appear extolling the virtues of sportsmanship. Similarly, the NCAA now requires pre-game handshakes between opposing teams.
The message was apparently lost on Nick Saban.
Up by 18 with something over 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter, he fakes a field goal and Alabama gets the first down. With approximately 1:20 left at the UK 14, Saban calls timeout on 4th down then calls a fade into the end zone; fortunately, incomplete.
His motivation? No doubt he was hoping to wrest a few votes for #1 from the game and was concerned because UF had scored more points and allowed less the week before while also playing in Lexington.
He should probably be worrying about Auburn.

I find nothing wrong with Saban's actions. Gator KGB, your posts are much more akin to ranting messageboard homerism about trivial topics than to the high standard that this blog normally aspires to.

I come here to read insightful commentary about the Gators first and general college football second. If I wanted superficial mud-slinging and ultra-biased writing, I'd go to a message board. Or worse-- Bleacher Report!

He ran the fake field goal to keep possession of the ball. Bama was trying to run out the clock but UK started calling timeouts. After the fake field Bama ran three straight times then let the play clock go all the way down before calling timeout. And the pass was to Mike McCoy, who's been struggling and it, at best, Bama's #3 receiver.

You'd think a Florida fan would know what running up the score looks like.

I don't care what the score is, you can't blame a team for trying to score. Why else are they on the field?

Nice to see you again, Rick.

Yeah, after this past weekend I don't see the Iron Bowl as a cakewalk for Saban, either. As far as this KGB quote goes - Saban may have thought along these lines - that, or he trying to appeast that notorious Bama homer Paul Finebaum - the same jerk who those lackeys at the Orlando Slantinel claim is "one of the most powerful figures in the SEC" (which is a load of crap, BTW - but take that from where it comes).

I just hope he and Bama find a way to beat the living shit out of UcheaT when the creamsicle hillbillies and their buffoon of a head coach go to Tuscaloosa.
