Things of note - UPDATED

1. Tim Tebow was completely left off of 154 Heisman voting ballots, which ultimately cost him the trophy. Is there any way we could remind Tim Tebow of this fact daily? As much as I wanted Tebow to be the second two-time winner, I think the fact that he didn’t will work out very nicely for the team.

2. The hiring of Auburn’s new coach was well received. Thank goodness Charles Barkley was there to comment on the hire. According to reports out of Tuscaloosa, Nick Saban is expected to recover (think Duriel Harris or Bill Gramatica) in time for the bowl game. Want to know why Turner Gill didn’t get the Auburn job and Charlie Strong hasn’t gotten a head coaching job in the South?

3. DeMarco Murray is out of the BCS Championship Game.

4. It is looking as though Dan Mullen will not be involved in the BCS Championship Game. Could you imagine the hysteria throughout the Gator Nation if Mullen pulled a Richt, against a Bob Stoops-coached Oklahoma in the title game in the Orange Bowl? I just threw up in my mouth at the thought of it.

UPDATE: Okay so #4 is completely wrong. Mullen is going to be with the team and as of today calling plays during the game.

This playing the race card crap has already gotten beyond tiresome already.

For crying out loud, a white person could pass a black person by on the street, minding his own business, without saying hi-yes-no-kiss my ass to him, and he'd be called a racist for doing so.

All this stuff has to stop.

The sentence about Barkley was sarcasm, or at least an attempt at it.

Had I known that Turner Gill's wife was white, I would have posted that he wasn't getting the job two weeks ago.

Now Scully...you don't REALLY think that that little spouse "issue" is keeping Strong & Gill from the primo jobs in the ENLIGHTENED South, do you?

God I hate the south, all the insecure white men ragging on Charles Barkley even though he's absolutely correct. J. Average Honkey gets hired anywhere, no one cares. Average white guys get coaching jobs all the time. But ask for a black dude for once, hole-ey shit. Whities go crazy. Only the most Exceptional! candidates please! And God Forbid Charles Barkley accurately point out that Auburn is taking a lot of heat for canning Tubs and hiring a black coach would generate positive coverage.

How many black coaches are there in the other conferences? Big Ten? 0. PAC-10? 0. Big 12? 0. ACC? 1 (in the SOUTH). If it is racism, it's not just the South!

Miami is just the epitome of the deep south, you got that right, champ.
